A Sense of Humor at the Wall Street Journal

The front page of the Wall Street Journal surely provided lots of chuckles across the country this morning as the headline and dashing figure of German Chancellor Angela Merkel supplied a little much needed comic relief related to the never ending European sovereign debt crisis. Note the Greek fans directly below Ms. Merkel who are none too pleased with either the German score or Merkel’s exuberance.

In other soccer news, Spain beat France 2-0 an hour ago and England plays Italy tomorrow, so, all the major European powers remain in the hunt for what is certainly an ironically named Euro 2012 contest that has absolutely nothing to do with the beleaguered common currency.
