It’s Germany vs. Greece

The odds are high that populations in both Greece and Germany will work a good deal of pent up aggression out of their systems watching today’s soccer football match that, while it won’t settle any of the economic/financial differences between the two countries, will at least make one of them feel good for a day.

From this Der Spiegel story come photos like the ones below along with some game-day commentary.

They say it’s a match of the profligates and the bullies with the bullies favored heavily to win, Germany said to be “a powerhouse on the pitch”, whatever that means.

Not surprisingly, the story notes that “many German fans appear to be more concerned with Greece’s economic woes than with its potential to kick Germany out of the tournament”.
